THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE JOINT PERMANENT COMMISSION OF COOPERATION (JPC) BETWEEN ZAMBIA AND GHANA WILL ENHANCE CLOSE TIES BETWEEN OUR TWO COUNTRIES IN VARIOUS FIELDS.

ZAMBIA AND MAURITIUS HAVE A COMMON MISSION OF FOSTERING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TO IMPROVE THE LIVING STANDARDS OF OUR TWO PEOPLES. OUR RELATIONS AS MEMBERS OF SADC ARE ANCHORED ON FRIENDSHIP AND MUTUALLY-BENEFICIAL COOPERATION WHICH NOT ONLY SERVES OUR SHARED INTERESTS BUT ALSO CONTRIBUTES TO PEACE, STABILITY AND DEVELOPMENT IN OUR REGION.

 ZAMBIA AND COTE D’ IVOIRE SHARE A COMMON UNDERSTANDING AND ASPIRATIONS ON IDEALS SUCH AS DEMOCRACY, PEACE AND STABILITY. HOWEVER, THERE IS GREAT POTENTIAL FOR OUR TWO COUNTRIES TO SHARE BEST PRACTICES IN AGRICULTURE, AND TO PROMOTE BILATERAL TRADE BETWEEN ZAMBIA AND COTE D’IVOIRE.

IN THIS REGARD, ZAMBIA IS COMMITTED TO EXPLORING NEW AVENUES OF COOPERATION FOR THE MUTUAL BENEFIT OF OUR TWO COUNTRIES.

 I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING WITH KEEN INTEREST, THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTS IN YOUR COUNTRY AND WISH TO COMMEND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC FOR THE MAJOR STRIDES MADE IN THE AGRICULTURE SECTOR.

WE ALSO ADMIRE YOUR COUNTRY’S ECONOMIC DIVERSIFICATION PROGRAMME TO SHIFT FROM DEPENDANCE ON OIL TO OTHER SECTORS. SIMILARLY, ZAMBIA IS PURSUING ECONOMIC DIVERSIFICATION TO SHIFT RELIANCE FROM MINING TO AGRICULTURE AND OTHER SECTORS INCLUDING EXPLORATION FOR OIL AND NATURAL GAS.

OUR TWO COUNTRIES HAVE A LONGSTANDING HISTORY OF COLLABORATION, PARTICULARLY WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE NON-ALIGNED MOVEMENT.
